National Vegetarian Week (NVW) is the annual awareness-raising campaign promoting inspirational vegetarian food and the benefits of a meat-free lifestyle. Celebrated by the Vegetarian Society since 1992, the Week is now an established event that gets bigger and better every year.

A huge range of organisations from small businesses to big corporations, schools, community groups and individuals all across the UK get involved and everyone is invited to join in and make the Week a success. To read more about the history of National Vegetarian Week, click here

This year’s NVW was our most successful ever, and we can prove it - our NVW 2010 Gallery showcases some of the many fantastic events that took place across the UK between 24th-30th May. Check out the pictures and captions on the right and or go the full gallery to check out just how varied, creative, fun and engaging National Vegetarian Week 2010 was thanks to the organisations and individuals that got involved.

We've annouced the Cauldron Local Hero Award winners. This year we've given a special award to those we think have made an exceptional effort to celebrate the week.

For National Vegetarian Week 2010 we thought we’d issue a challenge to our Vegetarian Society members , our followers on Twitter and members of our Facebook group .
